Nisui was recorded using a classic Yamaha U3 upright piano using a vintage processing chain, offering a warm, close piano plugin with meticulous attention to detail.

Nisui offers 25 collated variations of the original clean upright piano. From searing VHS & tape patches, experimental chopped up patches, classic clean upright, and everything in-between. With Nisui, we've tried to cover a lot of ground experimentally, while still retaining, at it's core, an extremely solid and usable piano plugin, that is the truest reflection of the brilliant U3.

The Perfect 'Imperfect' Upright Piano

The mixture of character & warmth led us to the Yamaha U3 Upright piano. After testing different microphones we landed on a pair of AKG C414s, tracked into a vintage processing chain.

By focusing on this core setup, we were able to create the best possible core version of the plugin, and then use additional processing to create gritty, experimental musings based on the original.

Bleeding with character

Nisui is a very versatile piano plugin. It offers the ability to add imperfections (noise layers like POLYGRADE, release triggers), that make it feel like an exceptionally recorded, dusty piano in your home, not an expensive grand piano in a studio.

NISUI comes with voice pan options (spread), detune (Ooze and Speed) and dynamic controls. Along with a selection of effects to create a wider palette of sounds, such as phaser & rich chorus.
